A Maternity Shoot of the Third Kind

I have seen hundreds of maternity photos in my life.  Rarely do I see something really original done so I was thrilled when Nicole Francavilla, a super talented Hair and Makeup Artist from Beauty By Nicole, and her husband Tom approached me to do something completely different.  They did not want the typical hands on belly type images for their maternity shoot.  Instead, they wanted to do an Alien Abduction maternity shoot.  They specifically needed three images to fill the frames on top of the fireplace in their new home.  This was right up our alley since one of our specialties is digital composite work where we take several images and seamlessly put them together as if it was all taken with one shot.  We came up with a series of images that starts with the alien visit, then they get abducted, and ultimately adopts the alien for a family portrait.

Here are a few of the behind the scenes shots that were used to create the images above.  The alien was a life size cast resin bust of a grey alien we had at the studio.  Everything was done on-location in their living room.
